Weekly News

Vacation Bible School is June 20-22! Please register your child ASAP online at www.eastsideatl.org/vbs2012. Please invite your friends and neighbors to enroll their kids! Please consider volunteering. To do so, please email Lani at [email protected].

Eastside Church Arts Ministry is helping to start a public library in Ghana this year! We are seeking to collect as many books as possible by this October. The books can be any genre (and for any age), as an entire village will have access to this library.

Eastside Church is supporting the ministry of the United Methodist Children’s Home by providing a week of meals for the student interns who serve Jesse’s House this summer. If you are willing to help provide a meal, please email Brit Eyster at [email protected].

Please go to www.eastsideatl.org and in the upper right corner click “signup”. This will allow you to create an account with Eastside Church Community Builder. This account allows you to give online, request to join a particular small group, view volunteer opportunities and much more. NOTE: EGIVERS – you must register with OCCB for all future online giving.

We are still in need of folks to join our Eastside Church Prayer Team. If interested, please email [email protected]. This team will be given the prayer requests gathered in worship on Sunday mornings, and will commit to praying for these throughout the week.

As always, we need help on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 to clean the church in preparation for worship. There is a sign up sheet at the coffee bar for those able to contribute. This is an easy way to serve as well as to get connected with others in the church.

If you are interested in learning more about joining an Oakhurst Small Group please contact Elisabeth Lloyd at [email protected]. Currently we have 5 groups that meet at various times and locations during the week. You can jump in at any time! Groups gather to fellowship, encourage one another, study scripture and pray for one another.

Please email [email protected] or call the church at 404-377-2117 if you are in need of pastoral care or counseling. Tim is available to meet by appointment.

Our communion juice is non-fermented grape juice. Gluten free bread is available – please let your Eucharist Minister know as you approach the table and they will assist.

After worship, Tyler Jackson and Carey Lynn Quinn will be available in the Prayer Corner to pray for any who are in need of intercession.
