Eastside Church in East Atlanta Village, GA is a creative, historic, inclusive, justice oriented United Methodist congregation.
We welcome, celebrate, and invite all to share in the life of our community through fellowship, worship, and leadership.
As a Reconciling Congregation, we affirm that all people are of sacred worth and created in God’s image. We want all to know that you are loved by God and by your siblings in Christ here at Eastside Church.
We are a diverse community and we embrace and value our diversity. We are all God’s children and Eastside welcomes and celebrates you, regardless of age, race, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, family structure, economic status, or physical or mental ability.

As we commemorate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s 93rd birthday today, may we engage in practices that honor his legacy of justice, peace and humanity. Challenge injustice, continue the struggle for equal rights, and take action toward building a community of compassion and dignity.

While the weather has shifted a lot of service plans today, one way to engage in acts of service is to spread the word about East Atlanta Community Association’s day of service. This will include a donation drop off at Burgess Peterson Elementary School on Glenwood. Donations will benefit our little pantry as well as the free little fridge at Hodge Podge. We’d love if you spread the word or even do a drop off yourself! More info can be found on their Facebook page.

We miss seeing you in this space and hope we can safely gather again soon. We continue to pray for health and healing, wise choices, and for love of neighbor to abound so that this pandemic will come to an end.

Yesterday we celebrated Baptism of our Lord Sunday. As we read of Jesus’ baptism in the Jordan may we take the time to remember our baptism. As Tim preached yesterday, let us take the opportunity to renew our commitment as God’s citizens here on earth. We have a chance to recommit, to renew our covenant, to look inward on how we participate in this society and make a transformation that will bear good fruit for our communities.

As we bid farewell to 2021 we want to express our love and gratitude for all who have patiently navigated the unknown with us, for those who have mourned and laughed and worshiped with us, for all who continued to practice resurrection even on the hardest of days. We’ve lost precious members and welcomed new friends. We’ve spent a lot of time in front of screens and joyfully re-entered our spaces. It’s hard to envision where things will go in 2022, but we are confident that as we strive to embody Christ in word, gifts and action we will see light even in the darkest of spaces.
