Karina Aragon-Buchanan (she/her)
Director of Congregational Care
Karina was born in Central Florida and raised between there and Costa Rica, a blend of cultures that continues to shape her life and ministry. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Flagler College and a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. Today, she serves as the Program Coordinator for La Mesa Academy for Theological Studies, a program rooted in justice and theological education for the Latinx community.
After seven years in youth ministry, Karina stepped into a bi-vocational role and now serves as Eastside’s Minister of Congregational Care. She’s passionate about creating spaces of healing, connection, and belonging—especially for those who’ve felt on the margins of faith communities.
Karina lives in Kirkwood with her partners and three cats. She loves spending time with loved ones, reading, daydreaming about the beach, and searching for the world’s best cappuccino. Pura Vida!
